Bassett Mechanical is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:

 

Ammonia Refrigeration Technician for our Madison location. 

This Ammonia Refrigeration Technician will be located in our Madison office and will work with a variety of refrigeration systems at client/customer sites. The qualified candidate will be involved with performing preventive maintenance, new system start ups, and troubleshooting system problems.   

Skills/Education/Training Requirements Include:  Skilled trades journeyman or equivalent background.  5+ years experience with Industrial Refrigeration and Freezing Systems (NH3).  Must possess or be willing to acquire OSHA Hazwoper certification (training provided by the company).  Good computer skills.  Must be physically able to climb ladders, scaffolds, access rooftops, enter restricted areas for first hand observation and inspection. Great written and verbal communication skills are required. Functioning knowledge of motor controls and electrical troubleshooting skills.

 

Quality Control Inspector for our Kaukauna location. 

This person will verify specific functions are being carried out in accordance with the prescribed work package, the Thermatech, Ltd. Quality Control Manual and customer specifications.  Duties for this position will include: material verification at point of installation; layout inspection of vessel shell before joint preparation; visual inspection of joint preparation, Initial Root Pass and final welds; verifying welding procedure is being followed and personnel are qualified; final dimension inspection; witnessing Non Destructive Testing; performing specific NDE functions (PT, MT, Hardness Testing); assembling components of the final data package as directed by the Operations Manager and Quality Control Manager; and other quality control related duties as they arise. 

Skills/Education/Training Requirements Include: Journeyman or technical school degree with equivalent experience in an ASME code fabrication environment; relevant work experience in an ASME code environment; prior non-destruction examination is desirable; ability to calculate nozzle and attachment locations on a vessel from drawing dimensions; ability to read fabrication drawings as well as read and interpret client and code specifications and determine fabrication requirements from the specifications; knowledge of weld processes and fabrication techniques used in pressure component fabrication; ability to read and understand ASME Section IX welding procedures and supporting procedure qualification records; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Laser Machine Operator for our Kaukauna location.

This person will operate the laser beam machine. Responsibilities for this position will include: operating equipment by opening safety enclosures, positioning metal and engaging safety enclosures; aligning mirror of laser cavity according to chart specifications; sight referencing mark through microscope and turning controls to move the fixture to cutting position; typing instructions to computer that places table in operating position, to initiate cutting cycle and to return table to unload position; clean optics, using brush, and replace used flash tubes as necessary; other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Training Requirements include: minimum 6 months previous experience running a laser or plasma cutting machine; cursory computer knowledge; ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong work ethic and reliability; and good interpersonal and communication skills.
