For the second year in a row, Bassett Mechanical is in the running for Coolest Thing Made In Wisconsin, a contest through the Wisconsin Manufacturing Council and presented by Johnson Financial Group. This contest brings together the best of the best of things manufactured in the State of Wisconsin. There are many “cool” things nominated from motorcycles to outboard motors, from cheese to military equipment. The array of impressive manufacturing happening within our state is staggering.
Last year Bassett Mechanical featured our massive saturation diving pressure vessel systems. These modular steel vessels range from 5/8” to 1 1/2” thick and are pressurized up to 450 psi, allowing diving bells to safely plunge 300 meter below the water. We were honored to have our vessels included in the Top 16!
This year we are highlighting our Heat Exchanger CO2 Cascade System. Through these systems we have been pioneers in expanding the array of applications served by natural refrigerants like CO2 and ammonia.
WHY NATURAL REFRIGERANTS?
As politicians debate and scientists seek to develop consensus, world leaders have established that synthetic refrigerants pose risks to our environment. Having combated the synthetic refrigerant-linked damage to the ozone layer, there is increased focus on similar links to global warming. Without waiting for regulatory changes that reduce the availability or ban synthetics, Bassett Mechanical was determined to create a solution.
The application of natural refrigerants requires the containment of high pressure and special safety considerations to prevent gas releases. Our professional engineering team, skilled union welders, process safety experts, expert start-up and service technicians work together to ensure the flawless operations of the natural refrigeration systems that we manufacture in our Kaukauna, WI facility.
The same ammonia that our Wisconsin farmers spread on their fields and the same CO2 that plants absorb to release oxygen is being used to refrigerate the foods we eat at a massive new refrigerated warehouse enabling supermarkets to deliver fresh foods to their customers. This is made possible by the natural refrigerant equipment produced by one of Wisconsin’s own, right here in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. We are proud to make the coolest, most natural and best possible thing for future generations of Wisconsinites.
Are you a fan? If you think this system is a cool as we do, please vote for us at www.madeinwis.com. Voting to determine the Top 16 goes from September 10th-16th. You can vote once per day, per device. Top 16 finalists are announced on September 17th.
