Respect for people. We believe genuine concern and empathy help create a vibrant work environment and nurture lasting associate, customer, supplier, and community relationships. Bassett strives every day to treat people fairly, honestly, ethically, and respectfully.
With core values like that, it’s no surprise that Bassett Mechanical’s culture has a reputation for championing our associates, customers, and suppliers and the needs of those surrounding communities where we live, work, and play. Bassett Mechanical supports organizations that provide basic needs (food, shelter, clothing) and education and works diligently to use time and skills to bring those necessities to individuals in need.
Award Winning United Way Campaign
The United Way Fox Cities recently held its Campaign Celebration to wrap up the 2022 United Way campaign in our community. Bassett was nominated for three different awards, and we won the award for Top Performance in the medium organization size category (151-499) for our outstanding participation and large increase in giving this past year (we also won this award in 2011 AND 2016). Other nominees in our category were Fox Communities Credit Union, Little Chute Area School District, and Miron Construction.
We increased the number of participants in our campaign by 54% from the 2021 campaign. Not only did our team run an incredible campaign, but we also exceeded our expectations, raising over $111,000, up by more than 27% from the prior year.
Special thanks to our United Way committee for their strong engagement in the campaign.
Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive
In addition to our United Way campaign, our wellness committee spearheaded this year’s Help for the Homeless Hygiene Drive. It was our most successful year yet, thanks to our incredible associates. We sent two truckloads of hygiene items and cleaning supplies to help our neighbors in need. The annual Help for the Homeless hygiene drive works with area homeless coalitions every spring to stock the shelves of 90+ homeless and crisis programs in 19 Wisconsin communities.
“Combining efforts in charitable activities brings people together to share their voice and work jointly for a greater impact in driving change. Bassett Mechanical is proud to support our community and very proud of all our associates for going above and beyond when it comes to helping these organizations,” said Patty Van Ryzin, Chief Human Resource Officer.
The giving doesn’t stop there; next up, our associates will lace up their tennis shoes to participate in the Sole Burner 5K to benefit the American Cancer Society. Our company and workforce have combined to create a powerhouse of people who care deeply about each other and the community.
