Bassett Mechanical was proud to attend this year’s IIAR Conference & Expo held March 12 – 15 in Long Beach, California. Our experts not only participated at this year’s show, but they also served on roundtables, as mentors and took home an Honorary Lifetime Member award from IIAR.
AIM Act Roundtable
With rapidly shifting refrigeration regulations, Bassett Mechanical’s Mark Stencel, Director of Refrigeration Product Solutions and IIAR Education Committee Chair participated in a panel of industry experts at the IIAR Conference to explain the impact of the AIM Act on refrigeration projects and processes. With significant changes effective as early as January 1st, 2025, talk to Bassett Mechanical about options to meet new refrigerant GWP requirements and best serve your needs.
Honorary Lifetime Member Award
IIAR also awarded Mark the Honorary Lifetime Member Award. Mark has given tirelessly and contributed invaluably to IIAR. Mark served as chair of the Research and the Exhibitor Advisory committees before joining the Board of Directors in 2008 and accepting the invitation to the Executive Committee beginning in 2013 with his term as Chair of the organization in 2017.
Immediately after his time ended on the Executive Committee, instead of taking a break as many would want to do, he started his first term as Education committee chair in 2018 and is now in his second term.
Congratulations, Mark, on this achievement!
Students Find Their Niche in Industrial Refrigeration
Two Bassett employees, who are still college students, attended the conference through the Ammonia Refrigeration Foundation (ARF) scholarship program – Jordyn Vanevenhoven and Zach Laser.
Jordyn and Zach served as guides for some of the scholarship recipients. Jordyn started as an intern in the Summer of 2022 and will begin his career as a Refrigeration Engineer in June 2023 with Bassett Mechanical. Zach is finishing his last semester of college and will start as a Refrigeration Engineer in June 2023.
